Born and raised in Szeged, on the Great-Plains, countryside of Hungary, have spent my childhood's Saturdays in my grandma's village Újszentiván, I always had been amazed by the Nature. My family still wonders from where this interest is coming from, since I was completely alone with this - sometimes awkward - hobby. However we still have not found the source, but since 1984 I have a great passion to observe, photograph, draw, collect and keep different kind of animals. Surprisingly at the same time, I have a - thousand times regreted - ignorance for plants. That odd preference always pushed me towards predators over herbivores, and after a short amateur bird-watching period I have choosen (with the kind help of Rudner József) spiders, the only "mega-diverse" group of animals, which are exclusively predators. Thus the only large athropod group that could be studied without the intimate knowledge of plants.

Right now I am a postdoc in California Academy of Sciences, where my morphologist skills could used, but at the same time I could learn some molecular analytical methods. Please learn more about my RESEARCH INTEREST here. If you are interested my other, not published  scientific archievements check the CONFERENCES summary.

This homepage tries to serve the following purposes. Providing quick informations about my whereabouts, scientific curriculum, papers as pdf-s, recent research. I include a photo gallery to show my spider or other nature images, some might be useful to awaken interest for spiders in others. All the photos and other intellectual contents (if not stated otherwise) are my own so if you want to use (educational etc. purposes) anything please ask permission.
